Alive and well
I'm still alive, but teaching and research are eating up most of my time and I sleep and sing in what's left.

That was very interesting. Having worked in marketing (to my regret), I've often been in the position of having to make something that is obvious to me clear to those who are not in the marketing loop (such as customers), and it isn't easy. I think a lot of institutions fail to cross that same kind of communication gap, especially doctors, banks, and the government. All these things are important, but what annoys me the most is the suspicion that I would get better medical care if I knew the right lingo. I hate it when they ask you if you have a symptom and you have to say, "I don't know. What is that and what would it feel like?"
I am now intrigued to hear what you'll say about the Census.
Also, I'm sorry your post office is closing. What a pain.
Having since had the medical appointment, I hate even more when you fill out all the forms and you still have to answer the questions THREE TIMES!
I can't wait for the census. I'm psyched.
My post office is actually not closing. The survey was a test maybe? Like they were thinking of closing it but they decided not to. So my address remains the same!
